Art Excursions
New York City Tour: Featuring the Turner special exhibition at the Met and also featuring the Neue Galerie: August 22-25, 2008
This summer is your chance to tour one of the world's best art cites under ideal conditions -- with Art Excursions as your host and during the run of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's TURNER exhibit, the first U.S. retrospective of this British master in more than forty years.

Please see below for more info on tour highlights, features, pricing and reservations.
TOUR HIGHLIGHTS
The Met: Perhaps the world's greatest large art museum (need we say more?)
MoMa: A NEW EXPANSION showcases one of the best collections of 20th century art
Guggenheim: Frank Lloyd Wright masterpiece displaying Impressionism up to the present
Frick: An intimate house/museum collection featuring Old Masters through the 19th century
The Cloisters: A one-of-a-kind medieval setting on the Hudson housing treasures galore
The Neue Galerie: Manhattan's newest cultural gem housed in a landmark building... presenting a collection of German and Austrian art from the early 20th century. (This is also the notable NEW home of Klimt's "Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer No. 1" (pictured above between Turner and Van Gogh landscapes) -- formerly displayed in Vienna.)
SPECIAL EXHIBITS
At the Met, we'll enjoy the Turner exhibit plus a spectacular traveling display of 170 examples of pietre dure or hard stone inlay (one of our favorite mediums) in tables, cabinets, jewelry, vases and sculpture.
The Met's new Greek and Roman galleries in a renovated 30,000 square foot space have received extensive critical acclaim. The Met also has renovated many other galleries.
At the Guggenheim, visit an exhibit of 20th century sculptor Louise Bourgeois.
At the MoMa, enjoy the special exhibit "Dali and Film" plus a traveling exhibit of German Expressionist Ernst Ludwig Kirchner's street scene paintings (his most famous series).
